Figure Skating Day Programs

Star 1-3  (4 days) & Junior Academy (3 days)  

*Club Coaching + Camp included​*  

• Our day sessions are priced with the inclusion of ice fees, and off-ice fees within regular programming.
• The day program may be purchased for any of the 7 weeks of programming but must be purchased for the full week(s) chosen.
• The Star 1-3 & Junior Academy programs will run together on the same ice session.
• These programs include supervision with our summer camp early drop off, and camp activities between sessions.  
• New this summer, this session will also include group club coaching by our day coaching team for both Junior Academy and Star 1-3.
  • This approach helps to support and engage early star skaters interested in joining the day program, but that may not yet have a private coach, or whose base coach may not be available for daytime sessions.  
  • If your private coach is not available for the day session, please communicate your plans to attend the day session with your coach. If you do not have a private coach, please let us know so we can communicate this to our director of skating. 
  • Private lessons are also available on the session for skaters whose base coach is available. Please arrange directly with your coach.

    Weekly Pricing:

• Jr Academy (3 days, Tues-Thu): $275 per week
• Star 1-3 (4 days, Mon-Thu):
  • Weeks 1-4 & 6-7: $350 per week
  • Week 5: $265 (civic holiday, no skating Monday) 

• Our day sessions are priced with the inclusion of ice fees, and off-ice fees within regular programming.
  • This program does not include camp or club coaching within the fee.
• These programs will run on a Group A and Group B schedule.
  • The schedules alternate start times between the 2 groups through the week. The purpose of this approach is to ensure the ice is safe with the appropriate number of skaters on each session.
  • Initial Session A&B assignments will be communicated to parents and skaters, at least 2 weeks prior to summer session start. The director of skating development, and day coaching team, will review registration numbers and group skaters together between these 2 sessions to optimize for training groups. The Director Skater Development will group skaters according to skating levels (Comp and Star4-Gold) as much as possible, but may move skaters between sessions  at his discretion if session maximums are exceeded, to ensure ice safety for all skaters.
  • If your skater is under 10, and you need supervision for early drop off or late pick-up, please contact us for pricing. Daytime camp is not available for Star 4 & up, as they are on a different schedule. 

•   Star 4-Gold & Competitive:
• Weeks 1-4 & 6-7: $190 per week
• Week 5: $145 (civic holiday, no skating Monday) 

In years past, we have worked with the City of Hamilton to utilize ticket ice hours for additional summer program hours between 7-9 am, offering a daily session for Star 4-Gold & Competitive skaters, built into our fees as a pass-through cost.

What Has Changed?

• How ticket ice costs and purchases are managed has changed . Whereas in the past we have included and managed the ticket ice costs within our summer program registration fees, earlier this year the city introduced a self-service process for ticket ice.  Parents are now required to purchase ticket ice for their skater online through the city’s web service. HSC no longer manages this cost as a pass-through.

What Does This Mean?

• The summer ticket ice programming hours for the 4-day program are still offered as they have been in summers past, and skaters in these programs are strongly encouraged to attend to gain the full benefit of our summer program offering.
• The ticket ice program option provides an additional on-ice session, daily for this program, totalling 4 per week of each.
• However, these costs are no longer built into our 4-day summer program fees and must be purchased separately. Costs for the regular summer programming hours have been reduced to reflect this.
• Ticket ice is also offered on Friday during the times indicated on the schedule, when our HSC program is not running.

Purchasing Ticket Ice

• The city now offers 3 options to purchase ticket ice. 
  • One option that is very economical if you use ticket ice through the year, is the annual unlimited pass, which can be subscribed and paid for monthly. The annual cost is $1,419.45+tax, and can be paid for in monthly instalments of $118.29
  • 10-packs may be purchased for $108.77. 3 of these packs would be required to utilize the ticket ice sessions scheduled for the 4-day program for 7 weeks.
  • Single ticket ice pricing is $14.51
